BEACH OR MOUNTAINS?

BEACH OR MOUNTAINS?

LET’S GO ON VACATION

I would like to take you guys on a journey. Let’s go on vacation! We’ll fly to the island Mallorca, Spain – one of my favourite places to go. Look at the nice beaches and the blue sea, but also beautiful nature and the mountains.

BEACH OR MOUNTAINS?

When you’re there you have two options: you can either lie on the beach or you can take a trip to the mountains.
I like being on the beach: You get a nice tan and feel all relaxed. But both will be gone after a few weeks back home.
If you go for a hike in the mountains, instead, you will get memories that will last forever, even after your tan is gone.

CHALLENGE AND ACHIEVEMENT

So imagine, you’re hiking up that mountain in the hot sun, you’re sweating like crazy and you’re running low on water. But once you’re on the peak of the mountain you know what you’ve achieved. You have a beautiful view, and you can see much more than those people on the beach. You have to work hard, but what you get is much more rewarding.

SUPPORT and OPPORTUNITIES

Your journey might be risky. You might choose a trail that is too dangerous for you, or you could run out of water. But along the way you will meet people that will help you. They would show you the way and give you the water you need to succeed. These people are the opportunities and support in life that you need, which you would not get lying on the beach.

BEACH OR MOUNTAINS?

In Dutch you have the saying: “Doe maar gewoon, dan doe je al gek genoeg.”
Act normal, that’s already crazy enough.
That’s not me, I have to say, because I like to achieve, I like to fail and learn from it. And I like to step out of my comfort zone to grow.

EXCELLENCE PROGRAM

The Excellence Program gives me inspiration and support, it gives me the opportunities and challenges that I need to grow. Being a student is a time of investment. The seeds we plant today will be the trees of tomorrow. Let’s invest into our lives!
